Adine Viscusi, co-owner of Casa Visco, a rising national manufacturer of pizza and pasta sauces, will receive a prestigious award recognizing her leadership and work in the Capital Region community. Viscusi was selected to receive a “Women of Distinction” award, created by Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. The awards pay tribute to exceptional women leaders.

Viscusi is honored to receive this tribute. She said, “Follow your passion. Do what you love and figure out how to get paid for it and you will never work a day in your life. I drive fast to work every day.”

Six women will be honored at the event, which will be attended by many supporters in the community.

While Viscusi’s company has always done well, it has reached new heights over the past year, due to several factors, which includes developing a partnership with the Beekman 1802 company. Beekman 1802 partnered with Target and Viscusi began making sauce for their brand. After a trial in over 200 stores, it was picked up nationally. Beekman 1802 is a TV Show, Mercantile, bestselling cookbook and memoir, website and tourism destination all inspired by the Beekman 1802 Farm in Sharon Springs, NY.

In addition, the Casa Visco pizza sauces have become incredibly popular on a national front, standing out among major brands including Ragu.

Viscusi was nominated by another popular business leader in the region to receive the award. The nominator will be revealed at the event.

About Casa Visco:

In 1945, Carmella and Joseph Viscusi, Sr. started Viscusi Wholesale Grocers, Inc., a small wholesale grocery business. The business specialized in selling Italian food products to restaurants and grocery stores. At the request of their customers, Carmella and Joseph, working out of the basement of their home, started to bottle and sell Carmella’s famous homemade spaghetti sauce under the Casa Visco name.

Since it’s humble beginning, Casa Visco has grown substantially. Casa Visco now operates a state of the art automated facility. Our commitment to quality has not changed, a family member still oversees each batch of sauce that is manufactured. Casa Visco’s emphasis on the use of quality ingredients and homemade goodness has led to being the #1 DSD Brand Pizza sauce in all of New England.

Casa Visco currently exports its products to several countries. Casa Visco has the high quality products that importers demand, at prices that really work in overseas markets. For information about export services, contact us at 518-377-8814 or by email at info@casavisco.com.
