Casa Visco Co-Owner Adine Viscusi Selected to Participate on Women in Manufacturing Panel as Part of Schenectady’s Second Annual “American Made Manufacturing Week”
Casa Visco is a Leading Manufacturer of Sauce and Is Now In Target Stores Throughout the Nation
(Schenectady, NY) – Adine Viscusi, the co-owner of Casa Visco, a sauce company located in Schenectady County, has been selected to participate on the Women In Manufacturing Panel as part of the city of Schenectady’s Second Annual “American Made Manufacturing Week”. The panel discussion will be held at 9:00am on Friday, October 2, 2015 at miSci, the Museum of Innovation & Science located in Schenectady. That date is also the celebration of National Manufacturing Day which includes activities around the country.
Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy feels strongly about the importance of hosting the week and recognizing the impact of manufacturing companies in the region. “Manufacturing is making a comeback in America and Schenectady has been part of this national tradition since the days of Thomas Edison and steam powered locomotives. Today the spirit of innovation and manufacturing is alive and well in Schenectady. National Manufacturing Day, and every day, is an opportunity to celebrate and promote the contributions local manufacturers have on our local economy and community pride,” he said.
The city of Schenectady’s Manufacturing Week is designed to expand awareness and improve general public perception of manufacturing, careers in manufacturing and the value of manufacturing on the local economy. The week-long event also includes student and public general factory tours and open houses at area manufacturers.
The Women in Manufacturing Panel, one of the highlights of the week, will include Eileen Guarino of Greno Industries and Cecilia Tkaczyk of Cece’s Wool, in addition to Viscusi. Louise Aitcheson, the director of the Chief Executives Network for Manufacturers at the Center for Economic Growth, will be the moderator. Viscusi is proud to have been selected to participate. “It is an honor to be included on this year’s panel, which includes strong women leaders in business. I continually look to inspire women to become involved in manufacturing. It has been and continues to be an extremely rewarding career that gives back to community on so many levels.”
Manufacturing Day, held throughout the nation, is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Viscusi said, “It’s important for manufacturers to collaborate and to discuss challenges and goals. Gaining the perspective of others helps all of us to succeed. I am grateful that the Mayor and those who work for the city of Schenectady recognize the importance manufacturers play in our local and regional economy and support them through building awareness and providing resources.”
The event will take place at 15 Nott Terrace Heights in Schenectady (miSci). For additional information contact: Chad Putman at 518.382.5089 or cputman@schectadyny.gov
